EV charger with solar

A home EV charger set up to use your own solar first.

An electric car adds to a household's electricity use, and that matters in Malta because the tariff is banded across the year: once your consumption passes 10,000 kWh the residential rate rises from €0.1607 to €0.3420 per kWh. Charging from your own panels during the day keeps those kilowatt-hours off the bill.

We size the charger and, where it makes sense, the solar and battery around it, and deliver the installation through a CheckYourTraders-verified installer. If you only need the charger, our sister site Electrician.mt covers that job on its own.

What this covers

What it costs

Charger installations vary with the cable run, the supply and the charger chosen. We have no published Maltese figure we can stand behind, so it is quoted on site.

None of these has a published Maltese installed price we can stand behind, so each is quoted after the roof survey, itemised, before anything is ordered.

How it works

You deal with us, not with the installer. We survey the roof, quote a fixed price, bring in a solar installer from the CheckYourTraders-verified network, and stand behind the work. One point of contact, one contract, one invoice.

Questions people ask

Will solar fully charge my car?
It depends on how far you drive, when the car is at home and the size of the array. The calculator shows what your roof can generate; the survey works out how much of it the car can use.
