CheckYourSolar: verified solar installers in Malta

How our installers are vetted

CheckYourSolar is MaltaSolar.mt’s directory of verified solar installers, part of the CheckYourTraders network. Every installation we deliver is carried out by an installer from that network. CheckYourTraders checks identity, insurance and track record, publishes reviews from real customers, and gives the installer a right of reply. Nobody goes on a job of ours without that verification.

When a REWS grant scheme is open, it adds conditions of its own: under the 2026 scheme the equipment had to be on the REWS-registered list, the installer had to give a 10-year warranty, and the application had to go in before anything was bought. That scheme closed on 12 September 2026; a further round was announced but not detailed.

Verified installers

We’re onboarding verified installers now. We will list installers here by name once CheckYourTraders has verified them, and not before — no placeholder slots, no paid “partner” badges. In the meantime you do not need to choose one yourself: book a survey and we bring in a verified installer for your job.

How our model works

You deal with us, not with the installer. We survey the roof, design the system against your Enemalta bill, quote it itemised, bring in a solar installer from the CheckYourTraders-verified network, and stand behind the work as the contractor. One point of contact, one contract, one invoice.

What to ask any installer

Whoever you use, these are fair questions to put to them before you sign:

• Ask for the warranties in writing, separately for the panels, the inverter, any battery and the installation work itself, and who honours each one.
• Ask whether the panels, inverter and battery are on the REWS-registered equipment list, which a grant has required in the past.
• Ask how they assessed shading from water tanks, the stairwell and neighbouring buildings, and for the expected yield in kWh a year, so you can compare it with PVGIS (about 1,668 kWh per kWp facing south in Malta).
• Ask whether the design complies with DC15 and, on a scheduled or older building in a conservation area, whether the panels stay within the envelope and below the parapet.
• Ask for an itemised quote: panels, inverter, mounting, cabling, any battery and labour on separate lines.
• Ask who handles the grid connection and feed-in paperwork, and who you ring if the system underperforms.
